It was a pleasure cooking tasty street food for the Vermont Pride Center Annual Dinner & Auction. My Korean beef sliders with house-made kimchi were a huge hit. Thanks to Green Pasture Meats in Shelburne for the delicious beef donation. Despite the fact that it was almost 80 degrees on ECHO’s waterfront patio, the warm and creamy cauliflower soup shooters with pea and mint pesto still sold out before our station closed down. Maybe the bacon topping helped?
I have been a big supporter of the Pride Center of Vermont since my arrival in Vermont. They offer many services to the LGBTQA community that I never had at my disposal when I was in my coming out stage. I was honored to donate a dinner for eight in the live auction that earned the Center $1000 (the $200 Wusthof knife from Kiss the Cook definitely sweetened the pot).
I will once again be offering selections at the Pride Center’s Uncorked for a Cause Wine Auction this December. Stay tuned for the menu!
